“I was one of the bush war fighters. One of the kadogo’s in the struggle to liberate Uganda, but I thank God I’m still alive. As I speak, I am one of those people President Museveni recently promoted to this powerful rank of ‘Colonel.’ I am here to testify that God does big and powerful things,” Col David Kansiime Karuhanga said.

“We are behind you,” Col Kansiime told Pr Bujjingo, lead pastor of House of Prayer ministries International. “We supported you before promotion, how about now.”

“What we are now, what we own and have achieved is not ours but the Lord’s. The victory we have achieved is for God,” Col Flavia Byekwaso said.

In his remarks, Police spokesman Emilian Kayima called for transparency and accountability among security officials. He said many neglect their responsibilities for what is deemed controversial in society.
