Mutundwe Christian Fellowship lead Pastor, Tom Mugerwa has sent out encouragement to those who followed Jesus Christ at one point in life but, now are done with Him, or at least His Church.

He has said all Christians at one moment or the other go through tough times, have the same choice to look beyond circumstance and see God’s promises instead.

He has observed that people turn their backs on their faith for several reasons, one of which is failing to acknowledged the reality of spiritual warfare mired with the deceitful, devious and cunning temptations from the enemy aimed that failing one’s God-given destiny.

“Every given day the enemy is on a mission to kill your dream and frustrate God’s plan for your life. He tried to do this with Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his brothers after being thrown into a dungeon (Genesis 37). Do you know how many huddles the Israelites had to overcome in their pursuit for the promised land? Some failed and returned to Egypt. But you have to fight your way through,” Pastor Tom Mugerwa told multitudes during an overnight at Mutundwe Christian Fellowship on 11 May.

“Never loose hope over the circumstances you are going through, persist. God knew what you will be going through. In Isaiah 43:2 He says; When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. When Reuben (Genesis 37) heard that Joseph’s other bothers intended death for him, he tried to rescue him from their hands. “Let’s not take his life,” he said. God rose up through Reuben. In one way or the other, God will deliver you and lift you,” he said.

The preacher warned believers not to put their trust in fellow men.

“Man can be tempted. I want you to put your trust in God, who is eternal and will never change. Put your trust in his word.  It is only God who can channel the heart of any man. It is a curse for a born-again christian to put their faith in man,” he said, quoting  Jeremiah 17:5.

Quoting Romans 15:4, he told the congregation that everything in scripture was written to teach believers, so that through the endurance taught in the Word, they can gain encouragement and have hope.

“Blessed is the man whose trust is in the Lord, regardless of how seasons change, such an individual will not be moved by any circumstance. Why many are losing hope today, even after God speaking to them? It is because they do not see beyond the temporary situations they are going through right now. Expect challenges in life. Between God speaking, and his word being fulfilled, is a heavy tide you must subjugate. Don’t develop a negative mentality and think God has deserted you,” he said.
