KAMPALA – A new Christian TV Channel officially hit the airwaves on Thursday, at a time many people around the country are using media and other forms of advanced technology in the construction of public belief and attitudes.

Rest Television, now available on Channel 53, on all free to air decoders, was launched during a special thanksgiving ceremony at Kansanga Miracle Centre in Kampala, Uganda’s capital.

The Chief guest at the event Robert Kayanja of Miracle Centre Cathedral, said through Channel 53, Africa, for the first time, “we are about to beam the true gospel of miracles, signs and wonders to the rest of the world.”

The TV Station is part of Kansanga Miracle Centre founded by Pastor Isaac Kyobe Kiwewesi.

Kayanja made a lump sum contribution of $10,000, which is approximately 37 million shillings.

I believe in broadcasting the gospel of Jesus Christ, the founder and CEO of  Channel 44 Television said.

Kayanja said with stations such as Rest TV, Channel 44 TV, Top TV and Salt TV, christian programs and content will continue penetrating every household, resulting into more impact for the Kingdom of God.

“This is another milestone in the Kingdom of God in this country,” Kayanja said.

“Television goes behind the curtains. It crosses and goes through the Embassies. People at night in the bars, motels, when they are about to commit suicide, they can tune on the television and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ,” he added.

Pr Kayanja urged attendees to believe God when things look hopeless, noting that Kansanga Miracle Centre’s landmark achievement is evidence that “If you believe God, you will do the impossible.”
