Several Christians gathered at Miracle Center Cathedral on Easter Monday as the Ministry launched ‘one million voices in prayer’ with the aim of mobilizing, equipping and activating intercessors for unprecedented revival.

The congregation, majorly dressed in red t-shirts which the Ministry leader Pastor Robert Kayanja said signifies the blood of Jesus, braved the rain to be equipped to press into governing intercession, spiritual warfare and fervent prayer.

Robert Kayanja warned against pride, anxiety, doubt and negative thinking as he delivered his sermon titled ‘How to have successful prayer.’

“You must have an ear of faith,” he said. “You must be captivated to worship, giving, repentance, faith and the Word of God.”

He taught the congregation that “spirit-filled prayer” is going to get what God has already given unto them.

“Prayer is not begging. Jesus supplied everything, He died for everyone. He said it is finished. Everything is ours, but the journey of going and getting it is called prayer,” he said.

“Watch out for speaking thoughts,” he cautioned the listeners. “That is the abortion of your faith and prayer. Your thoughts speak. We have aborted many of our miracles because of negative thinking.”

The event at Rugaba, a location within Kampala, was followed by multitudes online from various locations everywhere.

“Prayer is calling God to tell you great and unsearchable things that you don’t know. That is why the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. When you go to pray, you come out with a plan. The reason why we are defeated is because we are doing what everybody is doing. We are doing what can be searched out. We don’t hear from God. What is He saying to you concerning your marriage, business? There are unsearchable things that researchers don’t even know,” Pr Kayanja said.

The Channel 44 TV proprietor trashed claims that Prayer does not work and warned against hunging out with the “religious community.”

“Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, says Mark 11:24. It is Jesus Himself who said it, not apostle Paul or Robert Kayanya. Point is “Whatever.” Pray for things people have never seen before – Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer. That is called worship. God has already given you what you want, but you must go and get it

“You must understand the Jesus community – You cannot feed your spirit from religious or traditional centers – Hebrews 4:16 says; Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

“You must approach God’s throne, not man’s throne –  The most important thing you must do when approaching God’s throne of grace is having Jesus – being born again. What gives you confidence that you are standing on the promises of God is Jesus – Mercy is acquired and you must find grace. Prayer will lead you where Grace is,” he said.

Pr Kayanja said if the body of Christ does not understand what prayer is, “we are already defeated.”

The sermon was followed by selfless prayer as many laid flat on the ground, broke out in tongues and deep, intense worship.

The event ended with a feast, for a number of participants were actively fasting that day.
