Christian mothers from all walks of life in Uganda have resolved to gather at Seguku prayer mountain off Entebbe road for a two-day intensive prayer event against any scheme the devil has throw at the young generation.

This gathering under the tag line ‘mothers raising sons’ will happen 4th to 5th August from 10 am to 4:30 pm (EAT).

“The enemy has redirected his energy to destroying the next generation by attacking our children especially sons at an early stage. Unless you rise up as a mother to pray for your children, no one will do it for you,” Mr Godfrey Kutesa, founder of Kuteesa Foundation and the Boys’ Mentorship Programme remarked on Friday.

Pastors have it that behind every great family is a praying mother or father. The Bible shares an important illustration of the influence of godly mother through the life of Timothy. Little is known about his mother, but the brief insights shared offer powerful principles for today.

Mr Godfrey Kutesa said the time has come for every mother who believes in prayer to step into battle for her children.

“Only you can pray for them best. Only you can call upon the name of the Lord to save your family,”

Prayer mountain is a private Pentecostal facility established in 1999 by Apostle John Mulinde of World Trumpet mission.

Information from the administrative office to media indicates that it was established for purposes of praying for all nations to enter into their redemptive purposes.

Often times, Christians from all over Africa trek up the hill to pray. “The prayer mountain sits on about 80 acres and hosts large numbers of people for day and night prayers – both individual and group prayers,”

Mothers using social media have expressed excitement over the event and pledged to attend in person and commit to intercessory support for children.

“We have an enemy who wishes to damage our children. He wants their hearts and their minds. We can’t wish the enemy wouldn’t bother them or hope he will go away. We can, however, defeat him by the power of prayer,” one social media user reacted to the development.

“This is a lifelong battle, and we must never let down our guard. We must diligently pray and teach our children how to pray the Word of God as a sure defense against the one who continually seeks to destroy,” another commented.
