UG Christian News has had an eye opening conversation with gospel music singer and producer Minista Sami-K, born Kiggundu Samuel Henry.

Well known for having mentored great artistes like Robinsan, Muro Ronald, Mac Elvis (RIP), Lyrical Mykk, Zabuli, Levixone and Beth Mugisha under his Journey Man ProjeKT label, Sami-K says that God has been speaking to him about love, in accordance to John 3:16.

It is upon this background that the singer has released a deeply and strongly felt song titled “Amazing”, coming off his new album, “Greater Love”.

“This album is an assurance of God’s love for us who have sinned, who feel undeserving and rejected as though He is far away. We all need God’s love and it’s available since Christ’s death at the cross. It’s still flowing and God is calling us back to reconcile with Him.” Sami-K says.

This four minutes and thirty-eight seconds track features Tonya Ahenda, one of the most gifted artistes Sami-k says he has ever met.

“We worked under the same record label – First Love Records back in the day when she was part of an all girls gospel /inspirational group called Xabu (Sandra Suubi, Brenda Nantongo and Tonya Ahenda).”

“Sandra later won Uganda’s Airtel Trace Music stars competition, while Tonya went back home where she won the Kenyan Airtel Trace Music stars competition. Tonya walked into studio where she had come to work on her project and found me writing and recording Amazing.”

It is here that the two teamed up once again.

“She loved the chorus so I asked her to sing back up harmonies. She sounded so sweet and the blend of the voices was so in sync. I asked her to do the bridge and add libs and the rest is the final product you hear.” Sami-k states.

This song has been produced at First Love studio with Fred Wallace, Richie Luswata and Sami-k.

The singer who also doubles as a songwriter says people need to be reminded that love is the greatest gift God gave us and that He desires to share it not only with us but also our neighbors.

“God has been the greatest friend I’ve had through all life’s challenges. He has constantly told me that He loves me regardless what I do or don’t do for Him. There’s nothing I can do to change His love and when I fall short, I repent not because I’m scared of what he’ll do but because I’ve hurt the one I love most. I seek reconciliation with Him through repentance.”

Sami-k adds that his album will be out in the first quarter of this year and then an African tour later in the year.
