Police in Kabale is holding a 22-year-old man for allegedly injecting his two nephews with blood infected with HIV/AIDs, the Daily Monitor confirms through a report that highlights this event to have occurred December 12 this year.

The suspect, currently detained at Kabale central Police station, is a resident of Hakabungo cell in Mukaranje ward, Katuna town council.

It is said that the suspect used a syringe to get infected blood from his body before he injected it to the victims, aged four.

The newspaper reports further that the district local council suspects the culprit to have been staying with his grandmother, “and is believed to have acquired the virus from his late parents.”

Police spokesperson for Kigezi region, Mr Elly Maate told reports that the suspect was arrested from his hideout in Katuna town council.
