Tanzania’s President John Magufuli and first lady attend a Church service in Mwembechai, Dar-es salaam on Saturday.

Tanzania. President John Magufuli on Saturday donated USh8 million cash and 400 bags of cement for construction of a Church in Tanzania, most known in the Magomeni congregation.

The head of state also donated USh 1.6 million in cash for the Church Choir. He also led a quick fundraising for the same cause and raised about Ush40.6 million, according to The Citizen.

He was attending prayers at a Church in a town called Mwembechai, Dar-es salaam, along with his wife, Mrs Janeth Magufuli.

“Bishop, I thank you very much for today’s teaching that have touched me. Churches, including this of the Seventh Day Adventist Church make a great contribution to our nation, I assure you that the government will continue cooperating with you.” He said.

The prayers were, according to The Citizen, led by the Archbishop Mark Walwa Malekana together with Bishop Joseph Mgwabi.
