Mafuta Family scoops another international music award

KAMPALA – Ugandan gospel music group, Mafuta Family has won the ‘International Artist of the Year’ award at the 11th season of the Prayze Factor People’s Choice Awards in USA.

Based in Atlanta, the awards are a platform specifically and strategically formatted to expose faith based arts on a national/international level.

Mafuta Family  has gained nationwide recognition in the past few years for their songs ‘Oli Muwanguzi’, ‘Afanana Yesu,’ ‘Ninda,’  among others.

The Miracle Centre Cathedral based group was in 2016 accorded three mega awards, spotlighting the entire Prayze Factor award’s season 8.

“Let me encourage some one especially fellow ministers who have waited on the Lord for years and you think things will never work out for your good, Please keep your head up Jesus is not a Son of man to lie,” said Mrs. Alice, who represented the team at the awards ceremony that time.

“If it means taking you miles away from home just to say thank you, He will do it. Am a witness many people told me and some laughed and said it will never happen. But, I kept the dream alive knowing one day, one night, in Uganda, in Africa or out of Africa Jesus will say thank you Mafuta,” she added.

According to the organisers, artists on the platform have participated at the Dove Awards and Stellar Awards Gospel Artists Showcase.

“Our kingdom support awards honour those that work tirelessly,” the organisers said in a statement on September 14.

All through, winners and finalists from all seasons, embark on a successful tour across the US.

This year the organisers also recognised Everett Drake (Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel). He was a recipient of the Bishop Larry D. Trotter Legend award which is presented to an individual that has 20 + years in the gospel industry and is known for outstanding service, input and industry influence that are still relevant in today’s gospel.
