“Consulting with your wife doesn’t take anything away from you as the head of the family”, Newscaster at NTV Uganda, Mr Brian Mulondo told men during the weekly “Power, Sex and Money” gathering at Watoto Church on Friday.

His statement was inspired by the day’s theme that called for submission most especially among couples.

Mr Mulondo advised couples stating that when conflict arises, it could mean taking a look in the mirror so as to evaluate whether one’s words and actions may be contributing to the discord.

“Men, don’t hold onto your ego at the cost of the dream your wife brings to your vision.” He said, adding that men need to wake up to reality, because women are dreaming big and are very intelligent.

On the panel, Mr Mulondo was joined by three ladies; Eva Abwola, Laura Atim and Manuela Pacutho. The gathering was modulated by influential media personality Mr Joel Ssenyonyi.

Ms Manuela Pacutho called men to purpose driven lives, urging that at the end of the day, a husband and wife should have a common goal.

“Couples must cooperate, despite our differences in speed and approach to doing things we agree.” She said. “When you choose a man who submits to God, he’ll understand what you’re going through submitting to him. If you’re a man with no vision your wife [has no business] submitting to you.”

Ms Eva Abwola on the other hand defined submission as laying down your rights to someone in greater authority.

“We must run our lives on God’s perspective not the worldly perspective.” Ms Laura Atim said.
