Legendary Gospel group Limit X ushered believers into a whole new realm when they ministered at Miracle Centre Cathedral last night.

The group first announced during the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs) that they are making a major come back!

For those that doubted this statement over claims that they split apart never to reunite, they weeks later released an official statement announcing the official date and venue for their event.

The trio; Dennis Ssempebwa, Paul Sserukenya and Isaac Rucibigango, have during their media tour promised to pull off a “Timeless concert” that Ugandans will live to remember.

The event will take place this Friday, 28th April, 2017 at Kampala Serena Hotel. Entry Gold: UGX 150,000, and a table: UGX 3m.

Originally four, it seems like only yesterday that young men brought a breath of freshness into the gospel scene.

With their lush vocals and unique fusion of African and western musics (not forgetting some of the most outrageous haircuts known to man), Limit X won the hearts of Christian and non-Christian music fans alike, right from the 90s.

They earned a reputation as one of the hardest working groups on the gospel circuit, leading up to their winning a DMi award in 1992. They are known for songs such as Malibongwe (Come To Me), Clap your Hands, Miracle, among others.

Who is Limit X?

Limit X is a group that came from humble beginnings as youth ministers and worship leaders at the Miracle Center Church in Kampala, Uganda. They began their singing career in 1987.

Their performances in churches, schools and colleges quickly led to the success of their group called The New Wave Band. The group gained even more popularity as co-hosts with their pastor Robert Kayanja, in a weekly show on Uganda National Television in 1988 and soon became a household name.

In 1989, the group moved to London, England and changed their name as their ministry expanded to new frontiers. Since the unlimited power of God had been so evident in their own lives, they changed their name to ‘LIMIT X’, which means “our God has no limits”.

They quickly became one of the most prominent gospel music groups in the U.K. In 1992, LIMIT X won the Club 291 contest, which was the British version of the New York Apollo Contest.

In the same year, they won the award for “Best British New Artist” at the D.M.I. European Music Awards (then equivalent to the American Dove Awards). In addition, their first CD, Unashamed made its way into Britain’s Top Ten Recommended Gospel Albums Charts
