Viewers and Pastors are commending pioneer Christian TV station, Lighthouse for its new initiative that will allow believers receive daily encouragement and bible teachings from various preachers via live broadcasts on digital terrestrial TV and social media.

The television station has revamped its ‘Praise the Lord’ program to feature live praise and worship, inspiring sermons from Ugandan pastors, and guests from all over the country. The shows also includes a live audience.

“This live presentations initiative has given LTV a face lift. It’s wonderful,” a viewer remarked on Wednesday.

Each week for the last couple of weeks, several pastors have graced the station studio including Christ’s Heart Ministries International Bishop Isaiah Mbuga, Samuel Kasanka of Winning with Christ Ministries, Dr Godfrey Kamese of Praise Ministries, Pastor Alex Mutagubya of City Church-Luzira among others.

“We put up this program to speak to you,” Dr Godfrey Kamese told viewers as he later thanked the station.

Mench Everett, the Station Manager of Lighthouse was earlier seen tour several churches that broadcast with the station, and sources say some got debt relief and reduction packages in the process.

While marking 20th year of Television Ministry, Dr. Robert Nichols, the chairperson of the board and President of Lighthouse Television said the Christian Channel is not after making financial gains in Uganda but broadcasting the gospel of Jesus Christ on a daily basis.

He explained, “We have invested in Uganda because we believe in her till this very day. I could tell you all the challenges we have been through in the years, but when your faith is in God – We have invested several million dollars and we thank God for the privilege . Contrary to people’s belief, some [may] gain from Christian television, but that’s not what we came to do in Uganda, we are not here to make money, we are here to spread the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
