Founder and President of Lighthouse Television, Dr. Robert Nichols has said this Christian Channel is not after making financial gains in Uganda but broadcasting the gospel of Jesus Christ on a daily basis.

Dr. Robert made these remarks during the station 20th anniversary celebration held at Sheraton Hotel Kampala, where they also awarded among others, Pastors with certificates for outstanding contribution and financial support to Lighthouse.

“We have invested in Uganda because we believe in her till this very day. I could tell you all the challenges we have been through in the years, but when your faith is in God, when you realize that “I don’t have much but God has everything,” all things are possible to them that believe,” he said.

“Christian television is not easy. We have invested several million dollars and we thank God for the privilege . Contrary to people’s belief, some [may] gain from Christian television, but that’s not what we came to do in Uganda, we are not here to make money, we are here to spread the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ,” he stated.

Dr. Robert, who is also lead pastor at Calvary Cathedral International, Texas – USA said for everything God does, it is based on the principle of the mustered seed (Matthew 13.)

“I know we cannot do it on our own, we are small and don’t have the financial resources to do it. But you see, when you plant your little seed, it has ended, but God gives it life and it starts to grow,” he explained.

“It may be the smallest of all seeds, but it must be planted….when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches for shed –  that is exactly what the gospel of Christ is, we leave in a hurting world,” he stressed.

“The answer to Uganda becoming greater is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The gospel of Christ is the gospel of love, compassion, healing. The true gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is a helping gospel, loving gospel, team work gospel if we all pull together and seek from God to do,” he said.

Dr. Robert with delegates including the station manager, Gary Everett were on Monday able to meet the President, Yoweri K. Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni who congratulate Lighthouse Television upon their 20th anniversary. This was during a meeting at the Parliamentary building in Kampala.

According to a statement from the White House, the President conveyed his message at a meeting, thanking the station for being a source of employment to many Ugandans.

Museveni gave an autographed copy of his book, ‘Mustard Seed’ to Dr. Robert.
