Kosovo raised gospel music singer Levixone has through 92hands, a community based charity organisation helping needy families in slums, set out to rescue a single mother of seven.

The 24-year-old took to social media on Friday announcing that as 92Hands, they are raising funds to help single mothers find better work or start businesses.

He urged that investing in women creates long-term social and economic benefits for all individuals, their communities, and the world as a whole.

Together with childhood friend Nsabaanye Emma, they are calling upon well-wishers to join hands with them in-order to help a lady in their community washing clothes to feed her 7 children.

“Aidah Nantaale is commonly known as “The Washing Lady”. Her hands are now swollen from the harsh detergents she has used daily for more than a decade.” Levixone said.

It is reported that Aidah, 43, moved to Kampala with the hope of a bright future. She wanted to start her own family and gain the independence she had always dreamed of.

“For many years now, she has washed cloths daily to earn money. On a good day, washing will earn about 7000 Ugandan shillings (less that $2 USD). She is a single parent because her husband abandoned her while she was delivering her last child. The deep trauma and harsh reality of her situation became very real to her as she healed from childbirth. She would quickly make her mind up to provide for her family in whatever way she was able.” The team said in part.

With support, Levixone with his team hope to help Aidah establish a small store where she can sell groceries.

“A store could replace Aidah’s dependancy on washing and even raise enough funds to help her provide education for her children. This store could transform life for the entire family.”
