Buikwe Woman Member of parliament Judith Babirye has joined the United States Ambassador to Uganda Deborah R. Malac in encouraging youth to focus on creating greater community transformation backed up by development of individual capacity.

Spearheaded by Open Space Forum, a youth-led agency whose business embodies the broadening of space and opportunities for young people to enhance their full potentials and meaningfully contribute to national and global development agendas, the festival gathered youth from across several universities and related institutions in Kampala at Makerere University Freedom Square on Saturday.

Judith Babirye presented and explained the importance of Agriculture, a core sector of Uganda’s economy.

The Gospel musician encouraged youth to address their situation and then take action in order to improve their access to resources and transform their consciousness through their beliefs, values, and attitudes.

Later joined and entertained by Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi, commony known as Bobi Wine, guest of honor H.E Deborah Malac said that corruption continues to undermine service delivery and drain confidence away from government.

She said that Uganda has several opportunities and that it is upon the youth to source out, maximize and unleash that potential.

“We have not lost hope in the future of Uganda, we have not lost hope in you,” Malac told the Youth.

Several young people were able to exhibit their inventions, products and innovations to the public, organised under the theme “Our Moment; Championing individual youth initiative for job creation.”
