KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Semakula Musisi has on Thursday joined hundreds upon hundreds of Christians in celebrating Israel’s 70th anniversary. The celebrations kicked off early morning with a prayer walk from Makerere to Kololo Airstrip in the capital, Kampala.

Jerusalem, the capital of Israel has always been significant to Christians because of the places there where Jesus ministered and, most importantly, where he died and rose again.

Scriptures, speakers at the celebration said, urge believers to pray for the nation, as “God promised blessings on those who bless Israel and curses on those who curse her.” (Genesis 12:3)

The Chief event organizer, Drake Kanaabo, heads ‘Christians for Israel Uganda’ (C4I-U), an organisation which started operation in Uganda in the year 2009.

It is an institution dedicated to sensitizing the community about the current affairs of Israel, the biblical stance of Israel and us believers, and lastly, to pray and support the state of Israel as we draw toward the end of times.

Currently, Drake has ministered in over 51 nations around the world, doing mass evangelistic crusades and train evangelists. He has served with Redeemed of the Lord Evangelistic Church Makerere since 1982.
