Pastor Robert Kayanja of Miracle Centre Cathedral has joined the Executive Director of Irene Gleeson Foundation (IGF), Kiffasi John Paul for the ‪‎Irene Gleeson Foundation (IGF) charity walk today in Kitgum District, northern region of Uganda.

After battling with Cancer, Mama Irene Gleeson passed on in July 2013.

The annual Irene Gleeson Memorial Day was announced since her passing on, and it has been celebrated with a mega charity walk this year.

Irene Gleeson (RIP) is honored for her contribution and struggle for the betterment of lives of thousands of vulnerable children in Kitgum.

She had over four primary schools, a vocational institute, a community radio and a 1,500 seater Church within Kitgum and Lamwo districts.

Walking to raise books and pens for the children in Kitgum, Pastor Robert Kayanja has described the late Irene Gleeson as one who established a legacy, “she gave her all.”

Other dignitaries present included Hon. Daniel Kidega, Speaker of the East African Parliament, family and friends of Irene Gleeson.

On July 14th, 2016, the Managing Director of Umeme Uganda, Selestino Balungi handed over a dummy cheque of sh5m to Rev. Patrick Ssemambo of Gleeson Foundation to buy books for pupils in Lamwo and Kitgum districts
