Hon Betty Olive Namisango Kamya receives a warm reception to the Christian Stage during the Kampala City Festival Celebrations on Sunday.

Betty Olive Namisango Kamya, the Minister for Kampala and former candidate of the 2011 Ugandan presidential elections, made an appearance at the Sheraton Hotel gardens on Sunday, where several Christians gathered to be part of  the annual Kampala City Festival celebrations.

During her speech, the Honorable revealed that she is also a born-again Christian, a statement that brought a lot of excitement upon the congregation.

“I’m also a born-again Christian. I want to thank God who has prepared this day before us. Thank you for praying for the country. Thank you for preaching the Gospel,” she told the Christians.

Further noting: “Let me remind you of these two commandment, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and Love your neighbor as you Love your self’. For all the other commandment come from these two,”

She encouraged the congregation to continue in celebration within the country.

The Honorable came along with several ministers that included the State Minister of Tourism Hon. Ssubi Kiwanda Godfrey who begun by giving glory to God for the beauty of Uganda.

He Added that God has given us politicians who listen to the needs of the people.

“Such celebrations are no where in other countries. If you need confirmation on this, ask the people in Somalia, South Sudan and Central African Republic. God has given us the grace. We are here to celebrate our City,” He remarked.
