It is difficult to imagine a parent disowning their child, but it happens more often than we do realize. For quite a number of those who are able to walk out the traumatic event, the fight is against the feeling of betrayal, rejection, sadness, and anger. It is perfectly normal to feel all of these emotions however; they should not dictate one’s character and years ahead.

brown san 2Brown San, the last born of 3, all boys, was born on 25th, February 1989.  He grew up with his mother after being disowned by his father at the age of 7.

“I was disowned by my father at the age of 7 because he who could not stand up to the family responsibilities. Single handedly, my mother raised us up doing everything that you know a father would have done raising up his son.” Stated Brown San

“Growing up, my school fees and all essential basic provisions were not so easy to access. Invited or not, there were hard time that I went through; nonetheless the book of psalms gave me a lot of inspiration. When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take care of me.” He continued off highlighting Psalm 27:10.

With a low gentle tone and lively smile, I would not help but sense new hope and encouragement in his articulation.

Thankfully, Brown who is now ministering to God through gospel music has every reason to give thanks. “2011, God ushered me into the hands of a loving American family; Mr. Donald and Tina Scott. This is where a whole new chapter of my life begun. Meeting them begun the real process of healing in my life. These two became a fulfilling family that I had only dreamt of before. They helped me pay my school fees, house rent, and all the other bills. Only God can bring such favor to one’s life.” he said

“Mr. Donald and Tina Scott who currently reside in the USA were God’s promise fulfilled in my life. You know what it means to grow up with a single parent. I could not disclose it but, deep in my heart was a strong feeling of rejection from the former events. I received God’s love and healing through them.” He narrated

Today, through an NGO he founded called Africa Charitable and Humanitarian Initiative, his dream is to reach out to different kids in society who are suffering and might have gone through a similar situation.

“We do outreach ministry to different communities that have children that are disabled/vulnerable. We provide them with scholastic materials and other necessities.”

We have reached out to Kiryandongo Refugee Camp. It was a great experience. October this year, we do hope to make similar arrangements and anyone willing can always join the cause.

Previously backing up renowned musician Bebe Cool, Brown is also using gospel music as a tool to reach out to thousands in Africa. His latest single Ssubi Lyange was produced from Budhir studio by producer wani earlier in January. On this new album, he will be featuring American Artist Sharon Rachman.

“I do different music styles that include Reggae, afro beat, Dancehall.”

October 2014, he released an album called Child of Africa with 18 songs – Obulamu Lugendo, Nziize Okwebaza, Child of Africa, Worrior, and Praise God.

Ssubi Lyange is an encouragement song. No matter what one is going through. Do not give up on life. Hung on… sooner than later, God will show up. What He has done for me, He will do for anybody else.”
