Rapper and spoken word icon, Edwin Ruyonga.

I see no difference between my father Prophet Elvis Mbonye and Jesus, Pioneer Christian rapper Edwin Ruyonga has said.

Ruyonga made these remarks on Tuesday when he took to social media to wish Prophet Mbonye a happy birthday.

His post had by press time received mixed reactions from Christians, some of who wrote “this is blasphemy in the highest regard.”

Others, quoted John 14:12 and noted that Ruyonga’s comment shouldn’t be deemed as controversial.

“If this is mindset behind the creative songs, I am now thinking of deleting all your songs from my gadgets,” one fan, Amuel Ouga Ekemu commented on Ruyonga’s post.

“Pitch Dark blindness is when you can’t see a difference between a mortal human dude with Jesus. Not even the earliest apostles behaved like this. My brother stop worshiping Mbonye and take time reading the bible deeply,” he added.

(A one) Matovu Johnvianney told Ruyonga the difference is “we believed Jesus’ ministry simply because he was with us, right from a humble background till His death, he never drove luxurious Range rovers or even wear expensive suits.

Mary Nakwoz commented, “Am confused. Doesn’t this same Bible say we should be more like Jesus. That our lives should reflect that of Jesus? Or am misunderstanding,”

“But that doesn’t make us Jesus,” Laurie Setala responded.

Timo Kitiibwa said, “Religion and false piety has brainwashed all of you who think Ruyonga is wrong. Jesus himself said greater things shall you do. Jesus is not insecure.”

In his short message to many today, Prophet Mbonye said through his official Ministry page that he wouldn’t be without God.

“I wouldn’t be without my Lord, His name is Jesus, the Christ. He saved me, raised me, filled me with the Holy Ghost…picked me up, and turned my life around! Your will alone, Lord, matters,” he wrote.
