On Sunday, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni officiated a gathering of over 20,000 informal sector entrepreneurs that included millers, butchers, City Traders, Version86 Youth and transporters while at Kololo independence grounds.

To make more money from their activities, the president encouraged them to do more value-addition.

This he illustrated saying, Uganda now produces about four million tonnes of maize annually. However, a lot of this maize is exported to Kenya in an unprocessed form.  In the process we lose not just quality flour that would fetch more money but its byproducts like animal feeds and jobs.
