Singer Holy Keane left the country to proclaim to nations that Christ is indeed risen from the dead. The 30-year-old left Uganda on 17th May 2017 for USA.

Speaking to UG Christian News direct from this country of 50 states on Friday, Holy Keane said he is doing what God called him to do. He emphasized that on all occasions, ministry to him comes through music and sharing his personal testimony.

“I’m telling them about the great God that has elevated me. I’m sharing my testimony. I started with New York and the experience has been great.” He told our reporter on phone.

This music tour is expected to extend to more than 10 states, Holy Keane revealed, noting that locations on schedule include among others Dallas, Houston in Texas, Kansas, Boston – Massachusetts’ capital, Colorado, Seattle and at Journey Church in Bend Oregon .

Keane, born Kenneth Mugisa said the culture in USA is notably different. He noted that he is in the company of Alex Mutagubya, Pastor at City Church-Luzira.

“My mother conceived me at a very tender age, in her primary seven (P7). Young as she was, abortion would have been an easier way out but she chose to persevere and gave life to me.” Keane recently narrated his testimony to ugo.co.ug.

He soon lost his mother in 1998 and two years later, his Dad passed away too.

“I was 15 years old, both succumbed to AIDS, the then prevailing scourge. Just before I could take it all in, my dear grandmother also passed away in 2003. The pangs of being alone set in; there I was a child learning to take care of others.”

Before she died, Keane’s grandmother owned a bar to support the family financially and as a young boy going through different stages of growth, one can imagine the temptations that come with alcohol and bar environment.

“To cut the long story short, that period was filled with rejection, grief and lots of suffering. I was even attempted suicide.”

One day while walking in town, Keane stumbled upon a crusade at Nakivubo Blue organized by Bishop David Kiganda and out of curiosity and love for music, he joined the crowd.

“What I witnessed that day was something new to me, I saw the lame walk, the blind regain their sight, many were getting delivered and restored. That day I decided to accept this God that was doing wonders and not that life instantly became better but I found hope, peace and rest to push on.”
