USA – Evangelical leader Franklin Graham, son of the late Billy Graham has urged the Church in UK to excommunicate the governor, who “claims to be a practicing Christian”, yet signed a radical pro-abortion law last week that allows unborn babies to be aborted up to birth in New York state.

According to Life News Franklin Graham on Tuesday, urged New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan to excommunicate Andrew Cuomo for “celebrating the barbaric slaughter of unborn babies.”

On the day the abortion law was signed, Mr Cuomo ordered that the One World Trade Center and other state landmarks in New York be lit pink to celebrate the abortion law.

“I call on my friend Cardinal Dolan to take a moral stand,” Franklin Graham said. “Whether it moves the governor’s calloused heart or not, it will have a great impact on not only the church in New York, but on the church worldwide. It’s about standing for right over wrong, good over evil.”

Life News reports that Dolan expressed hesitancy about excommunicating Cuomo earlier this week. He said the punishment would be counterproductive because Cuomo likes being the “bad boy” and would not really care.

Graham urged Dolan to act anyway. He said the law allows the torture of unborn babies in a way that most people would not stand for if it was done to a dog or cat or a convicted criminal.

UG Christian News earlier reported the law allows unborn babies to be aborted for any reason up to 24 weeks and up to birth for “health” reasons, a broad category that includes basically anything.

Then same also redefines a “person” as “a human being who has been born and is alive,” and describes abortion as a “fundamental right.”

The law also removes state protections for infants born alive in botched abortions, according to Life News.

“It poses serious dangers to women’s lives and rights as well. By removing protections from illegal abortions, the law will open the door for abuses. Back alley abortionists, abusive partners or parents and others no longer will face charges for illegally killing an unborn baby – even if the mother wants her child,” Life News reported.
