George W. Kanyeihamba was appointed a member of the Supreme Court of Uganda in 1997.

While commenting on the country’s state of affair during a talk show on national TV this week, retired Judge George Kanyeihamba boldly stated that Uganda’s government is becoming irrelevant for appearing in matters which it’s not concerned with.

Kanyeihamba, known for his no nonsense nature while executing matters, said God is the only protector that we are left with as Ugandans.

“Don’t talk about security, it’s not there.” He told NBS. “When you read about what is happening, it doesn’t sound well or give confidence to the citizens.”

The Veteran Judge remarks follow reports of increased insecurity in several parts of the country.

On Monday, Police urged residents of Kampala and the surrounding areas of Wakiso and Mukono to remain despite multiple cases of increased criminal gangs making it to the press.

IGP Kale Kayihura later on Wednesday appeared before the Parliamentary Defense Committee over the current security sensation in the country.

“The situation is in control.” He told the panel.

Gen Kayihura called upon Ugandans to be calm as police is still investigating on the security issues like that of former AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi who was gunned down by yet to be identified assailants.
