Over 10 well known Pastors are expected to attend a day and night prayer convention aimed at bringing together believers across Uganda to pray for God’s divine intervention to stop the consistent wave of abduction of women, children and others across the country.

Spearheaded by Dr John W Mulinde, the Founder and Global Overseer of World Trumpet Mission, the three (3) day event slated for June (12-14) will happen at Seguku Africa prayer mountain.

The Prayer convention is expected to draw the Presiding Apostle of the Born Again Faith, Dr Joseph Serwadda and Bishop Joshua Lwere, the senior pastor of Grace Assembly Church, Kampala and Overseer of the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches (NFBPC) in Uganda.

Others are Apostle Michael Kimuli, Apostle Alex Mitala, Pr Jackson Ssenyonga, Bishop David Livingstone Kiganda, Pr Lauben Jjumba, Pr Deo Musoke among others.

Over the last three (3) months, over twenty-five reports of kidnap have been recorded by police.

Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima told Journalists the trend overshot after the infamous kidnap of Suzan Magara, a 28-year-old cashier, whose body was found on the Southern Bypass in Wakiso District after 20 days in captivity.

Mr Kayima said of the 25 cases, five ended up in the murder of the victims which cases the Police are following up.

“I think the scripture tells us, that when two or three gather together in my name, he’s right there in the midst of us. And so, when we pray together, touching and agreeing, we believe that God can handle and do anything,” Kizito Amos, a believer who intends to attend the convention told this reporter.

“Everybody around is affected some way or another. And the more that we have come out, the more that we can get together. I believe the results will be more fantastic,” Amos said. “And until we see change, we will continue to join together daily, hand in hand, lifting their voices to God, asking Him to intervene.”

The event will also address other current national challenges.

“Set aside 3 days for the healing of your nation.God’s priests will lead us in repentance and spiritual warfare for Uganda,” a statement on the event says.
