Internationally acclaimed singer Alaine has warmly received the gospel and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. The 39-year old was over the weekend baptised by Pastor Ryan Mark of Pure In Heart Ministries International in New Kingston, Jamaica.

“Welcome to the Kingdom Of God Lady Alaine,” Pastor Ryan Mark, who doubles as a gospel artist, posted on Instagram.

“I am exited to see what God has in store for you, your best days are ahead,” he added.

Born September 21, 1978, Alaine Laughton is a Jamaican American reggae singer and songwriter. She was born in New Jersey, but moved to Jamaica at the age of three.

In 2005, Alaine’s song “No Ordinary Love” was a breakthrough single in the reggae scene globally, and was quickly praised for her special talent. The single topped charts in Jamaica and several others in the UK and Uganda. Her other singles include “I do” with Kenyan gospel singer Willy, “Deeper”, “Chaka Chaka Love”, “Heavenly”, “Wine” and “Love Sound”, a duet with Beres Hammond are also doing very well.

In her remarks regarding her new found faith in Christ, Alaine took to social media to express her relentless joy and love for God.

The singer then quoted Isaiah 43:19 which says; Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

 

A week ago,  she performed at a Jamaica’s premier gospel concert, which was held in Kingston.
