Newly appointed Minister for Education and Sports, the first Lady Mrs. Janet Museveni is on a fact-finding mission in the ‘Comprehensive Sexual Education Curriculum’, that saw its way into the limelight after numerous investigative media reports.

The First lady disclosed this set agenda during her maiden school visit to St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School in Nsambya earlier this week.

During her speech, the first lady expressed her gratitude towards the jubilant team of St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School for warmly welcoming her.

Giving a quick recap on what happened during the visit, the first lady has today taken to social media details of the visit saying, “I urged teachers of St. Peters S.S.S Nsambya, in Kampala, to always observe and scrutinize all materials and programmes introduced in their school to protect students from accessing information that will endanger them at a tender age,”

“This visit was a fact-finding mission in response to an outcry from the public after claims were carried by the media that an organization was introducing a programme termed ‘Comprehensive Sexual Education Curriculum’ in some schools,” she further stated

It was on Saturday 7th May, 2016 that the Saturday Monitor investigations reported that about 100 schools have been duped into training disguised homosexuality to their teachers and students.

This raised concern among religious leaders, the Parliament, Police authorities, NGO’s and activists.

Monitor reported that this computer-based comprehensive sexuality education curriculum was developed in 2003 by Butterfly Works and the World Population Foundation (WPF) in collaboration with SchoolNet Uganda,

The curriculum was further reported to target secondary school students and their teachers, portraying homosexuality and masturbation as fulfilling sexual attributes among people who have consented and one way of controlling unwanted teenage pregnancies and early marriages.

“To the young people, I want you to be vigilant and protect yourselves against worldly attractions that could ruin your lives and future. You don’t need these attractions right now,” the First lady further stated
