Worship Harvest Ministries awarded a Christian charity organisation that has for years welcomed young women with crisis pregnancies and has grown to embrace a number of such girls who are traumatized, confused and rejected owing to their condition from all regions in Uganda.

Wakisa Ministries was handed ‘The Act Award’ for exceptional leadership after being recommended by the general public which filled in an online form providing a clear explanation with evidence and clear examples of what the Charity has done.

The award was received by Ms Ruth Wangare B. Gambu, the Charity Central manager, on behalf of Mrs. Vivian Kityo, the founder during the ‘Transform Leaders Gathering’ at Worship Harvest Church – Naalya on 9th Sept.

From a humble beginning, Wakisa Ministries aims at bringing the youth to Christ by offering unconditional love and message of the Cross.

They provide temporary shelter, counselling and care services to teen mothers. They also provide opportunities for Christian growth, discipleship and equip them with life and vocational skills, thus transforming lives of this vulnerable group.

They promote the dignity and self esteem of young girls in Uganda, addressing their emotional, physical and spiritual well being. To date, they have sheltered 1401 teen mothers, helped deliver 1320 babies and supported 102 back to school.

Worship Harvest Church also awarded two other individuals including UPENDO Missional Community.
