Hip-hop artist Andy Mineo has always wanted to figure out a way for deaf fans to enjoy his music videos.

“Hear My Heart” is his personal record, a tribute to his big sister Grace who is deaf.

“It’s just an honest record of me essentially apologizing to her for having never learned sign language growing up,” he explains openly during an interview with hip-hop culture icon and veteran Sway Calloway of Sirius XM’s Sway.

“I want to see sounds. So we’re really working on something creative and special for her because I really just want her to know that I love her and I’m sorry.” he said.

Today the groundbreaking video for “Hear My Heart” is released to the public and can be viewed on Reach Records’ YouTube Channel as well at http://reach.cta.gs/04a.

Mineo collaborated with Alex Medina and Director Kyle Dettman to create an innovative visual that is accessible to the Deaf and hard of hearing community.

In the video, Andy Mineo signs his lyrical performance and sounds are brought to life through visually interesting 3D objects.

To advocate for the Deaf Community, Mineo, 28, released the video for International Week of the Deaf 2016, a week recognized globally the last week of September, to support and raise awareness for this year’s theme “With Sign Language, I Am Equal.”
