Judith Babirye drew close to victory 4 months back after defeating the incumbent MP, Dorothy Mpiima in the NRM primaries for the Buikwe Woman MP seat

According to the provisional results, Buikwe constituency approved to the fact that she was the one that could modernize their lives.

The Celebrated Ugandan gospel singer is now officially the Woman Member of Parliament following her win in the Thursday, February 18th elections that left her with a remarkable count of 80000 votes.

During the nominations and right after the declaration of her win, Judith Babirye promised to improve health services in the area and tackle the problem of unemployment among the youth during her term in office.

She also said that her aim includes helping her people move from substance agriculture to commercial agriculture.

Addressing media on the night of her victory, Judith recounted her serene wait for the results amidst which she prayed to God for victory.

She added on to say that her supporters in Buikwe no longer call her Judith Babirye but now refer to her by one of her hit single titled ‘Favor’.

“Everywhere I have been to lately, all I can hear people call me is Favor,” She explains her win as nothing but an act of kindness from God.
