Young Pastor’s Fellowship, an initiative of popular Pastor and gospel singer, Wilson Bugembe has drawn over 500 young preachers of the gospel to Light The World Church – Nansana on Friday.

The meeting was aimed at among other things resourcing and equipping young Christian leaders in Uganda to minister effectively through the local church, transforming lives and building flourishing relationships in the community.

The fellowship run under the theme “Church Growth.”

Graced by Bishop Joshua Lwere, senior pastor of Grace Assembly Church, the Pastors prayed and were taught how to fulfill their visions for leadership development and pastoral formation.

Following his recent statement, Bugembe, who started ministry at a tender age said: “l simply feel in my spirit, young Pastors should meet and pray together, inspire one another, learn from one another.”

The fellowship received positive response on social media when announced earlier last week, with one user stating that Uganda has several dedicated but untrained pastors who often struggle to effectively lead their churches.

“This means churches can be fragile, vulnerable, or unable to bring practical and spiritual transformation to their communities,” the user added.

A recent study by africanpastors.org revealed that in Africa, it is reckoned that as many as 90% of pastors have never received even a single day’s training.
