Lisa Romesburg, anticipated speaker at December’s Praise City Gathering.

Unlike the previous editions, December’s Praise City gathering that seeks to ignite and equip worshipers in Uganda has been revved up with more top notch speakers who have gone through a challenging past, and have moved passed ‘labels’ to gain victory in Christ.

This edition running under the theme, ‘labels’ will lead Christians to acknowledge the truth of one’s identity, worth, and purpose centered in God through Jesus Christ.

Lisa Romesburg, a USA resident, who will headline the event at Hotel Triangle – Kampala was at 15 years of age blocked and raped by a gang of five (5) as she walked to school for a sports game.

“I walked through this parking with my [friend] at night and the next think I know – this van pulls up and the doors come flying open . About 5 guys jump out and kidnap my [friend] and I. They took us somewhere, I don’t have many memories of that evening – the next thing I recall was the doors come flying open. I was gang raped all night long. It was one after another… over and over and over,” she says.

How did she move past such a traumatizing event that left her physically and emotionally abused. How did she cope up after dropping out of school, doing drugs and then unexpectedly welcoming a child as a young teenager?

“Circumstances are not meant to make us disabled but rather to put the under utilized zeal to work,” as Pr Brian Lubega hits on barriers placed upon people because of labels.

The duo will be joined by the event host, Minister Sami-k who doubles as a gospel musician among other things. Dr Denis Ssempebwa, CEO of Eagles wings USA will also speaks at the Praise Gathering come 3rd December, 4pm.

The event is Free.
