MASAKA – West Buganda Bishop Henry Katumba-Tamale has urged that it is important for students in various schools across the country to know the Word of God if Uganda is to remain a nation that honours God.

For our motto; for God and My country, to become a reality, not a mockery as it us currently, the Bishop said institutions need to educate children to fear God, by not teaching them only academic issues but also enriching their spiritual life.

Bishop Henry Katumba made these remarks at a function where he prayed and blessed Dez Junior Academy Primary seven candidates ahead of their Primary Leaving Exams (PLE).

He encouraged the candidates who visited Kako Cathedral, the seat of West Buganda diocese to disregard claims that there are no jobs in Uganda.

“People will de-motivate you with saying like; you are wasting time to study, there are no jobs. I want to assure you that the jobs are there so long as you are employable and disciplined, and above all God fearing,” Bishop Katumba said.

The Bishop explained that many people have lost jobs because they are not adding value to the companies

He requested candidates not to panic in exams. Katumba also tipped the candidates on hygiene and confidence as they prepare for their national exams.
