Anthony Wonder Muhumuza, the founding Pastor of Amazing Grace Faith Church, located in Uganda’s capital Kampala, has publicly apologized over photos that were published on the Church’s official facebook page showing a man who claimed to have been healed during their service earlier this week.
Muhumuza, who’s ministry recently celebrated 5 years, took to social media informing the public that the charlatan, identified as Abdul Aziz lied about being healed when the church prayed for him.
This was only identified later when sources close to Apostle Muhumuza revealed that this is something he [Abdul] did in other churches elsewhere.
“Credible sources and pictorial evidence shows that this man is fake and has done this in other churches. We ought to have investigated a little more thoroughly before publishing.” The Church social media team said, on behalf of the Pastor.
“Apostle Anthony however doesn’t believe and strongly condemns lying in the Name of God. We apologize for any hurt this may have caused to you our dear followers. We promise to be more vigilant in future.” They added.
The mission of the church is to establish people in their God given assignments through preaching and teaching the word of God, the Apostle says they believe in miracles and have seen even greater miracles than this.
His journey with the Lord begun at the age of six when he got saved. Deeply moved to spread the gospel, he thereafter started with conducting Sunday services at his home for the family after they had failed to go to church.
“We set up chairs and a table then invited everyone and I conducted a prayer session that lasted about 40 minutes,” The father of two recently told media reporters. “Ministry takes faith and resilience.”
Apostle Anthony, now 35, once served and was mentored by Prophet Elvis Mbonye, before founding Amazing Grace Faith Ministries in 2011.
