Renown televangelist Andrew Wommack of the Gospel Truth Program that airs on several TV stations in Uganda is set to celebrate 50 years in ministry this week.

Andrew, who doubles as Team leader at Charis Bible College in the Capital Kampala, begun the Andrew Wommack Ministries on March 23, 1968 when he experienced a miraculous outpouring of God’s unconditional love and grace.

Fifty years later, his experience has been multiplied in millions of lives the world over.

The Ministry took to social media March 19 to announce the Jubilee celebrations, noting that although Andrew’s ministry has changed a lot over 50 years, the one thing that remains constant is his message of God’s love.

“Why? Because he discovered long ago that it is God’s love that saves the lost, heals the sick, and prospers our souls; it’s the crux of everything this ministry is. And love never fails (1 Cor. 13:8).” They said.

About fifteen years ago, the popular preacher says God opened the door for Andrew Wommack Ministries to begin touching lives halfway across the world through Lighthouse Television.

The Ministry said in a statement, “As we celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Andrew’s encounter with the Lord on March 23, 1968, we also commemorate fifty years of miracles and lessons, leaps of faith and mistakes, growing pains, and supernatural provision. What God has brought Andrew through, we can easily learn from to discover our own true identities in Christ and to walk in the blessing of God.”

Adding, “You don’t reach fifty years of ministry without being committed. It takes endurance and a foundation on something stronger than the opposition of the world. Andrew’s foundation is his reliance on the Author and Perfecter of his faith (Heb. 12:2). He challenges us to put our trust not in his latest teaching series, but in the hands of the only One who will never fail us.”

Pastor Herbert Kiwanuka, who has partnered with Andrew for over 10 years, announced Thursday that Andrew Wommack Ministries has been a blessing to him and his church, Glory of Christ Ministries International.

“We sincerely thank God for your life, because you have been such a great blessing to all of us individually, as a ministry, and to the country at large,” he said.
