The final winner of the fifteenth and final season of “American Idol” was announced and yes, it’s Trent Harmon.

Harmon is a committed Christian. He is passionate about his faith and he is not shy to share it.  Harmon started in music when his mother taught him “Amazing Grace”, he was the age of 5 and, he grew up singing in church.

After the legendary win, Harmon took to Instagram to address his fans.

In a teary-eyed acceptance speech, he admitted that the stiff competition pushed him every step of the way. “I worked so hard,” Harmon said after hugging Renae [His close friend and fellow competitor till the finals], tears welling up in his blue eyes. “I know I have a God-given ability but I didn’t want to take it for granted.”

He wowed judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick, Jr. with his voice.

He also stole the hearts of fans, ultimately going on to win the show’s final season and take his place among previous American Idol winners such as Carrie Underwood.

Christian Today reports that when Harmon was announced as the winner, he collapsed on stage.

“I haven’t been able to breathe in almost a year. I feel like in that moment, I got to decompress for the first time in almost a year,” he said.

“Trent just whispered in my ear, ‘You know, this is what God wants. God has something really special for you. You won with me, too, baby,'” Renae told USA Today.

Harmon’s words rang true because the show’s mentor and record executive Scott Borchetta later announced that he will be making a record deal with Renae too. “I love them both. They’re both great,” he simply said.
