This is closely similar to what happened in Uganda when some artistes united through music, (Tubonga naawe) to endorse the National Resistance Movement flag bearer in the presidential elections.

Popular USA R&B singer Chrisette Michele is chocking on public outrage following her performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday.

Apparently, this move did not go well with the R&B fans including “The Tonight Show” bandleader Questlove, who initially offered to pay her not to sing in D.C.

Sources report that despite rumors that Michele would make $750,000 for her appearance, the actual number is $250,000.

Michele stepped in as a performer following the news that Andy Grammer had backed out – just one of quite a few.

This decision to chirp for Trump has however turned out to be a costly one.

One USA film director, producer and writer Spike Lee , who considered working with the singer confirms that he will not use her music in his upcoming Netflix series “She’s Gotta Have It,” because of her commitment to the controversial 45th President.

She was also slated to perform a Thursday night show at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, N.J., but less than half an hour after media broke news of the Trump engagement, the venue announced that the concert had been canceled because of a “scheduling conflict.”

A sea of former fans have taken to social media insisting that they would no longer support Michele. Her next scheduled performance is at a casino in Biloxi, Miss., on Feb. 4.

Only five months ago did the singer perform for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at a state dinner in the White House.

Even before this controversy took a dead end, Chrisette Michele issued an open letter on her blog titled “We Can’t Be Present If We’re Silent,” where she writes that she is “willing to be a bridge” for the country.
