Pastor Umar Mulinde, a Christian convert from Islam, is an acid survivor whose emotional story grew viral at the occurrence of this incident.

On December 24, 2011, Muslims in Uganda threw acid on him and severely burned his face, neck and back. He was transported to Sheba Medical Center for treatment with the help of Israeli friends, and has been returning for treatment.

Narrating the ordeal, he says that the attackers yelled Allah Akbar three times as they ran away. He gave his bodyguards the day off, thinking there would be no attack on Christmas Eve.

He was transported to Sheba Medical Center for treatment with the help of Israeli friends, and was returning for treatment till of late.

Before this year ends, the preacher is set to thank God and testify of his unfailing love and grace that has kept him alive and well.

Preparations are underway to have a Praise & Thanksgiving Dinner on 11th /12/16, at Serena Hotel.

One of the miracles Pr Mulinde has witnessed is that Sheba Hospital offered to treat him free of charge—a gift worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Getting to this country was nearly impossible, as there is no Israeli Embassy in Uganda and he was in very bad shape. Getting a visa took significant miracles too.

“Acid burnt me to near death had God Not helped me. Later they threw letters at my office boosting that I am finished…It’s the Lord’s doing for me to be alive and kicking, doing [mega] things than ever before!. I will share this amazing Testimony and you will be encouraged and inspired greatly.” He remarked Tuesday.

Doctors have done an amazing job reconstructing his face, saving his ear and providing him with a prosthetic eye.

Mulinde, 42, converted to Christianity in 1993, his life changed, and is now the head of the Gospel Life Church International in Uganda’s capital, Kampala. He is married and has seven children.

His family disowned him, saying he was dead.

After more than two years of painful rehabilitation, he is already back on track to begin to preach the gospel once again in Uganda and elsewhere around the world.

“When someone leaves Islam,” Muslims must kill him “in the service of Islam,” he said recently adding, “One who kills an apostate “gets honors” and will go “directly to heaven.”

Dinner Cards are sold at Aristoc Book Shop on Kampala Road and Gospel Life Church International at Ushs.100, 000 only.
