A seven-year-old pupil of Bright Future Primary School, Gayaza amazed Ugandans recently when he effortless prayed for celebrated singer Bobi Wine, born Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, who is currently an aspirant for the Kyadondo East Parliamentary seat.

This unexpected prayer session during Bobi’s campaign rally at Wampeewo grounds on 5th June lasted about 4 minutes however, it made rounds on social media for over three (3) days as several news sites picked interest in the event.

Latest, an interview by one news daily reveals that the young star, Alex Kityo wants to preach the gospel for the rest of his life.

“I wanted to be a doctor but after this calling from God, I just want to use the rest of my life to preach the gospel. I want to dedicate my life to praying and helping people.” He said.

Recalling the campaign events that introduced him to the public, Alex says he felt the Holy Spirit coming down unto him with instructions to ask Bobi Wine to humble himself before God.

“All I said during that prayer were the words the Holy Spirit directed me to speak. I do not remember what I prayed for but I am sure I declared victory and favour upon him.” He told the news paper on Thursday.

Asked if he was afraid, Alex responded; Praying does not cause shame because it is better than anything else. I always feel free when praying because I know I am doing the right thing.”

“I started [preaching] when I was in Top Class at Joe and Joe Nursery School, Manyangwa. I used to preach to fellow pupils at break and lunch time.” He said.

“I prayed for my parents to build a house so we could stop renting and they did. I also wanted to see Pastor Bugingo physically, my dad to buy a car and for me to get a bursary. I got all these.” He told Daily Monitor.

In his conclusion during the interview, Alex encouraged fellow children to pray and love God since He loves us too.
“I pray for all those children who are persecuted and kept in remand homes not to lose hope for I am keeping them in my prayers at all times.” He said.
